\u00dclkemizin sahip oldu\u011fu biyolojik ve k\u00fclt\u00fcrel \u00e7e\u015fitlilik hepimizin malumu. Biyolojik ve k\u00fclt\u00fcrel \u00e7e\u015fitlili\u011fin payda\u015f\u0131 olan bir di\u011fer \u00e7e\u015fitlilik de tar\u0131mda kullan\u0131lan bitkilerin \u00e7e\u015fitlili\u011fi. Tar\u0131msal genetik kaynaklar\u0131m\u0131z, gerek de\u011fi\u015fen piyasa \u015fartlar\u0131 ve buna ba\u011fl\u0131 olarak tar\u0131mda monok\u00fclt\u00fcrle\u015fme s\u00fcre\u00e7leri, gerek k\u0131rsal n\u00fcfusun azalmas\u0131 ve geleneklerini b\u0131rakmas\u0131 gerekse de do\u011fadaki de\u011fi\u015fim (iklim de\u011fi\u015fikli\u011fi gibi) s\u00fcre\u00e7leri nedeniyle ciddi oranda yok oluyor, azal\u0131yor ve b\u0131rak\u0131l\u0131yor. Uygulad\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z Kat\u0131l\u0131mc\u0131 Kontrol ve Toplum Destekli Tar\u0131m gibi projelerle, %100 Ekolojik Pazarlar ve TaTuTa gibi modellerin tamam\u0131 bu “b\u00fct\u00fcne” hizmet ediyor. Bu model dahilinde, \u00e7ift\u00e7ilerin ve kentlerde k\u0131smen de olsa kendi g\u0131das\u0131n\u0131 yeti\u015ftirenlerin yerel tohumlar\u0131 takas etmesi i\u00e7in kolayla\u015ft\u0131r\u0131c\u0131l\u0131k i\u015flevi g\u00f6r\u00fcyor, yerel tohumlar\u0131m\u0131z\u0131n “tohumdan tohuma” devinimlerini izlenebilir ve t\u00fcm bilgilere kat\u0131l\u0131mc\u0131 olarak ula\u015f\u0131labilir a\u00e7\u0131k platformlar yarat\u0131yoruz. Y\u00f6nlendirme Komitesi taraf\u0131ndan al\u0131nan kararlar \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131nda ilerleyen projede ayr\u0131ca belli aral\u0131klarla \u00e7ift\u00e7ilerle bulu\u015fuyor, sorunlara ortak \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcmler ar\u0131yor ve konunun uzman\u0131 akademisyenlerle \u00fcreticileri bir araya getirerek bilginin payla\u015f\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131, hep beraber yarat\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131 sa\u011fl\u0131yoruz. Seed bartering network campaign: A step forward for the seeds of the future…<\/strong><\/p>\n

The supporters of the seeds of the future will do \u2018a step forward\u2019 during the 35th Istanbul Marathon on the 17th of November, 2013. You could also take a step (or even run many steps!) for the seeds of the future, which are the valuable local seed varieties known and sown for hundreds of years, such as the \u2018Kavilca wheat\u2019, the \u2018crazy pea\u2019 or the \u2018pink tomato\u2019 during the Istanbul Marathon.<\/p>\n

The Bu\u011fday Association for Supporting Ecological Living in collaboration with the Ad\u0131m Ad\u0131m Initiative aims to pass on the local seed varieties inherited from our ancestors to the next generations by implementing the \u2018Seed Bartering Network\u2019 project. This project tries to find local seed varieties that are no longer cultivated and share them among different ecological farms to sow them, harvest the new seeds again and as such enlarge the barter network of these valuable local seed varieties. The Bu\u011fday Association, since it was founded, implements projects aiming for the conservation of Turkey\u2019s agro-biodiversity and for the (ecological, social and economical) sustainability of rural lifestyles. In 2007 for example, Bu\u011fday implemented a project entitled \u2018The Seed Network\u2019 aiming to bring together all stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, universities etc., to act together for the conservation of the agricultural biodiversity of Turkey. This network is still operational through \u2018The secretariat of the Seed Network and Traditional Farming Training\u2019 project implemented by the Emanetciler Association. Through its projects the Bu\u011fday Association raises awareness on the importance of conserving local seed varieties in many different aspects.<\/p>\n

With the \u2018Seed Bartering Network\u2019 project (which started in 2011), the Bu\u011fday Association also aims to set up a monitoring system for each seed variety that has been shared by farmers or hobby gardeners to the network from the beginning of the project to be able to conserve these heirloom seeds for the future. Finally, the project aims to set up a seed bartering network that includes all people willing to ecologically cultivate local seed varieties to support their conservation. The \u2018Seed Bartering Network\u2019 supporters will gather on the 17th of November in Istanbul for the seeds of the future and for the sustainability of life during the Istanbul Marathon.<\/p>\n

Through this campaign Bu\u011fday and the Ad\u0131m Ad\u0131m Initiative aim to collect 36.000 TL by literally taking a step forward. Donations gathered by the AA Runners will provide the means to cultivate and harvest new seeds of at least 20 local varieties. Donate now for the \u2018Kavilca wheat\u2019, the \u2018crazy pea\u2019, the \u2018pink tomato\u2019 and many other local seed varieties!<\/p>\n
